Editorial: Thinking with Migration, Sexuality, Gender Identity, and Transactional Sex

This article introduces a special issue of Anti-Trafficking Review that bridges the fields queer, migration, and critical trafficking studies by examining implications heightened juridical recognition sexual orientation gender identity for debates on sex work, human trafficking. The proceeds from insight that, as legibility queer trans* (i.e., lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, all non-binary non-heteronormative forms sexuality identity) moves forward, it appears to de-emphasise explicit connections sexuality- gender-based social movements have historically drawn between identity, governance, material survival. In emphasising questions survival, this both recuperates non-cisnormative subjects within transactional sex, shows how theoretical sensibility can offer new insights established critiques in field.
